What local authorities can expect from Simply Care Supported Ltd

We provide our young people with a secure base within which they are equipped and enabled to provide safe and nurturing homes to young people where they are valued and enabled to build their resilience and realise their unique potential. To achieve this, we recruit and train carers who deliver ongoing, bespoke support to them.

PARTNERSHIP
We recognise that young people need a variety of support with regards to their individual needs. We aim to make a big difference to the everyday lives of the young people in our care.

We will:

Value the skills and expertise of the other professionals involved with the young person;

Recognise that the young people in our care are individuals and will need different things at different times;

Ensure that our Service meets the standards expected of a good quality service;

Treat all young people without discrimination and with repsect
CLEAR INFORMATION
We know that information is vital for our young people who often feel that they have no control over their lives.

We will:

Give you all the information needed by the young person with the agreement of the Local Authority in order to care for them safely;

Provide information about who the young person will work with and the property that they will be staying with;

Provide this information in writing prior to placement (except when there are emergency placements and it is not feasible to do so, when we will provide this information as soon as possible);

Ensure that there is a placement plan drawn up in discussion with the young person and Local Authority. This will be agreed in advance of placements (except in emergencies where this will be done as soon as possible);


CLARITY ABOUT DECISIONS
We recognise that young people struggle to understand the decisions that have been made for them. We will endeavour to include the young person in our decision making processes wherever is reasonable..

We will:

Ensure that, wherever possible, that young people are able to make everyday decisions;

That young people are not treated differently to or by their peers and can feel part of the house they are placed into;

Provide clarity about any decision made to the young person and ensure that everyone understands who is responsible for what.
SUPPORT
We recognise that young people can feel isolated and show challenging behaviour as a result. We will offer appropriate and timely support makes all the difference to the young people we care for.

Respond positively to requests for additional support

Provide you with weekly feedback

Give you honest and open feedback

Provide young people with access to 24-hour support from people with expertise


LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT
We believe that young people must be enabled to access learning and development opportunities. This will ensure they have the skills and knowledge they need to leave their placement with us as strong adults who are able to make positive decisions in their lives.

Provide young people with opportunities to development their skills through support such as mentoring or support.
FAIR TREATMENT
We recognise that young people have a right to be treated fairly, no matter what the circumstances.

Consult with young people before making changes to the home they reside in

Ensure openness in all of our discussions and communications with young people and the professionals that are supporting them

Ensure that young people are treated with respect, kept informed and provided with emotional support should they require it

Provide a framework for dealing with allegations and adhere to our agreed timescales


COMMUNICATION & CONSULTATION
We believe that open and honest dialogue is the key to a good professional relationship.

Facilitate regular communication between everyone within the Simply Care Supported team.

Ensure that we consult with you in a meaningful way on matters that affect young people, give them and professionals timely feedback from consultations.
